4 things you need to do when considering email marketing.
Argos, Amazon, Ebay. All the big players know the power of email marketing and how can bring visitors back to your website. We love it. We use it for ourselves to promote our print business and it’s great. We send a mail, we get phone calls and we get visitors to our site checking out the offers. Here are some must do’s when think about your campaign.
1) Use your own data. If you are buying in data, especially email addresses, you need to be really careful. Our own research shows that email addresses date very quickly, and you get the best results if people have freely given you permission to use their email address
2) Use date related content. In the majority of cases, if the recipient doesn’t do something when they first see the the email, they won’t touch it again unless its very special. For best results, have offers that have some sense of urgency about them.
3) Measure results. What excites your clients? What do they like to hear about? By including 3 or 4 subjects in an email an seeing which ones are the most (and least) popular, you can get an idea about what to include and leave out next time.
4) Do it. Don’t keep thinking its a great idea and never quite get round to it. You can get a free trial of the system here: http://constantcontact.runtimeuk.com
